Spread across 106 acres, Qutb Shahi Heritage Park is one of India's most significant historic necropolises and among Hyderabad's most remarkable heritage destinations. Located near Golconda Fort, the Heritage Park has been meticulously conserved through a partnership between the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the Department of Heritage Telangana.
The Qutb Shahi Heritage Park encompasses the magnificent Qutb Shahi Tombs, restored gardens, historic stepwells or baolis and other architectural landmarks, the Heritage Park offers visitors an opportunity to experience Deccan history in a peaceful natural setting.
Qutb Shahi Heritage Park welcomes visitors throughout the year. Visit between June and September during the monsoon to see the monuments framed by lush, rain-fed greenery, or between October and February when Hyderabad's weather turns pleasantly cool, ideal for unhurried exploration of the Heritage Park. Summer months (March–May) can be quite warm, so early morning or late afternoon visits are recommended if you're travelling then.
Though popularly known as the "Seven Tombs," this royal necropolis comprises around 40 tombs. Alongside the grand mausolea of the Qutb Shahi Sultans lie the tombs of their families, nobles, military commanders, physicians, dancers, and other members of the royal court — some smaller in scale, yet no less significant.
Qutb Shahi Heritage Park houses over 80 monuments, including the mausolea, a 16th-century hammam, funerary mosques, grave platforms, and several other historic structures spread across the necropolis.
The Qutb Shahis built multiple baolis across the necropolis, and visitors can see them as they explore the site. Restored stepwells now collect 20 million litres of rainwater annually, reviving this ingenious centuries-old water management system.
In the last decade, Qutb Shahi Heritage Park has been transformed into a thriving 106-acre heritage sanctuary. Thousands of trees, restored gardens, and pathways now surround the 16th–17th century monuments, creating a landscape where nature and history coexist in harmony. Today, this royal necropolis stands as one of Hyderabad's largest and most significant urban green spaces.

Jewel of Nizam – The Golkonda Hotel (3.5 km, Masab Tank) — One of Hyderabad's most celebrated fine dining restaurants for Nizami cuisine. Signature dishes include Kacchi Gosht ki Dum Biryani, Haleem, and Patthar ka Gosht.
Local Dhabas on Ibrahim Bagh Road (2 min drive) — Authentic, affordable Hyderabadi fare including biryani, kebabs, and chai. A local favourite for visitors exiting the park.
Toli Chowki Area Eateries (1–2 km) — A cluster of mid-range restaurants and fast food outlets serving Indian, Chinese, and Continental options along the main road.
Golconda Fort Road Food Stalls (near Golconda Fort entrance, 2 km) — Street food vendors offering mirchi bajji, samosas, cold drinks, and snacks — ideal for a quick, budget-friendly break between the two sites.
If you are combining QSHP with Golconda Fort and Taramati Baradari (see below), the Golconda–Toli Chowki corridor has enough dining options for a full day without needing to travel elsewhere.
Note: The park does not have an in-park café or food court at present. Carry drinking water and light snacks, especially if visiting with children or during summer.
